Patient Satisfaction Gets New Tool

December 24, 2013 by Kerry Kilpatrick Leave a Comment

Patients want to know that the hospital they’re in is germ free! The last thing they should have to worry about is breathing contaminated air or about becoming even sicker because they picked up a “bug” from the hospital.

Imagine sitting in a waiting room surrounded by people who are coughing, sneezing and blowing their noses during a bad flu season. Are you feeling good about being there? Right about then you start to worry about “catching something.”

Hospital Acquired Infections

With all the media coverage surrounding hospital acquired infections (HAI’s) it has become a common thought process that if you do go into a hospital you will come out with a ”bug” you didn’t have when you went in. How can a healthcare facility overcome that perception?

Arcalux Health Risk Management System

Pure Air and Patient Satisfaction

Imagine the waiting room scene detailed above where you’re surrounded by sick people and you’re afraid to breath. Now imagine you see a sign on the wall that says:

“Look Up! The air you’re breathing is being continuously cleaned and sterilized by our high tech, ultraviolet decontamination system housed in our ceiling lights. You can breathe the air with confidence. Your health and safety is our greatest concern.”

After reading the sign you notice a video playing on a wall monitor that gives a visual demonstration of what is taking place invisibly above your head. Are you feeling more relaxed now? How is that for a great patient experience?

99.7% Airborne Pathogen Neutralization

The ultraviolet system I described above is the Arcalux Health Risk Management System and it is proving to be a powerful tool against airborne spread disease based on recent test results. The initial lab testing of this new device was done by Aerobiology Laboratory Associates. Their lab technicians sprayed a wide variety of infectious organisms (Bacillus, Serratia, MRSA, Staph) into an enclosed test room and measured what happened when they came into contact with the Arcalux ultraviolet light chamber. Their in-depth reports detailed a 99.7% neutralization of the “bugs”.  A great outcome to say the least!

Hospital Test Sites Next Step

This is an amazing product that the Energy Alliance Group is really interested in conducting field testing of, in locations where sick people congregate. We are in the process of taking the product out of the lab and into real world settings. We have a meeting set up with a potential hospital that is considering becoming a test site. They are excited about possibly being the first hospital in Michigan to offer this leading edge technology. If you are with a hospital or healthcare facility and would like to be considered as a test site, please contact EAG here.

I look forward to reporting the results from our test sites that will be monitored by third party testing labs.
